The small barn with big amenities, right in town! Low numbers of horse boarding owners and riding lessons students on our private farm means no waiting and no drama. All the toys including schooling dressage arena and jumps. Horses are comfortable both mentally and physically in stimulating, urban surroundings. In bad weather, we bring them in to their stalls. In bad footing, we use the 60x120' groomed indoor arena for limited turnouts to preserve our paddocks and your horse's soundness. In or out there is ample quality hay or lush grass, a good bed, clean water and comfortable companionship. We have no trails here, but a trailer can quickly get on the road to other area horse venues. Our compact and convenient lay out means fewer steps from parking to barn to paddocks, pastures or professionally groomed arenas--and never wading in mud to find your horse. We aren't for everyone, but we might be just what you want.
Certified by CHA as an advanced level riding instructor, Kelly has been teaching mostly beginners to ride and enjoy horses since buying the farm in 1990. Prior to that Kelly was correctly taught both here in the U.S. and in England, where her father was stationed while serving in the USAF. While living overseas as a teen she took lessons, owned her own horse and participated in Pony Club events and foxhunting. As an adult, Kelly has attended clinics with Bruce Davidson, George Morris and others over the years, and strives for their classically correct equitation styles in her students. Though this is not a "competition" barn, we do attend some local shows and events . We limit number of students to allow for personal attention and encourage their voluntary participation helping with the many barn chores. Several past students have found employment or work professionally in the equine industry in different disciplines--or have just become happy, successful horse owners and riders with happy horses. We always enjoy it when any of them return to visit!!
